JOB TITLE: Tribal Wellness Coordinator
LOCATION: IRTC Sub-Office, Headingley, MB or IRTC Head Office, Fairford, MB
TERM: ASAP – March 31, 2024 (with possibility of renewal)
SALARY: Based on experience
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Reporting directly to the Director of Health, the Tribal Wellness Coordinator’s main focus is to carry out the coordination activities of the Community Wellness Program to provide individualized and community supports and services in each of the affiliated and independent communities in the IRTC region. Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Responsible for the supervisory and coordination support to the Community Wellness staff to ensure the business activities in the Community Wellness Program is achieved.
• Ensure Program Delivery is in accordance to funding agreement(s) and polices. Including preparation/editing reports for the Director of Health, IRTC Leadership, Funders, etc.
• Promote healthy lifestyles through client support, community events, workshops, public education sessions and networking.
• Gather, track, and report data information / statistics on community wellness, health needs and resources through client intakes, assessments/tests, interviews, and observations.
• Attend weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings with IRTC’s Tribal Wellness staff, the Director of Health and/or the health staff.
• Ability to communicate effectively by correspondence, reports, email, and over the telephone/in-person.
• Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with staff, First Nations, external agencies, clientele, and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Health.
QUALIFICATION:
• Post secondary College/University education is preferred in the field of social work program management or business with a combination of 2-3 years of work experience in the social services field.
• Health and Wellness certifications (e.g., ASIST II, Mental Health First Aid, SafeTALK, Crisis Response, CPR First Aid, etc.) is an asset.
• Management and supervisory experience an asset.
• Case management practices, financial program budgeting and proposal writhing experience an asset.
• Must have experience using computers to develop various documents (letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, etc.)
• Must be able to work overtime hours if needed.
• Must have a class 5 drivers license, reliable vehicle and ability to travel.
• Must be able to provide a Criminal Record Check.
• Ability to speak and understand Saulteaux/Ojibway an asset.
