- SALARY: Based on experience
- TERM: ASAP – March 31, 2024 (with possibility of renewal)
Job Description:
Under the direction and supervision of the Tribal Wellness Coordinator, the Tribal Wellness Outreach Worker will work with the Wellness Team to carry out the wellness activities focusing on a strength- based approach and protective factors within the Interlake Reserves Tribal Council Member First Nation communities. Activities include, but not limited to:
- To provide administrative support to the Mental Wellness Team as well as set and establish work priorities and schedule of activities for communities.
- Consistently working with the communities to provide support in the delivery and coordination of mental wellness programs and services.
- Work closely with the Mental Wellness team to plan, organize and coordinate community engagement sessions / workshops / activities to build awareness on mental health, ect.
- Providing support and follow up between visits to the community and
- Assisting frontline workers with capacity building, referrals, and other
- Liaise with other partners (other IRTC programs, IERHA, hospitals, MHCC, ) to enhance wellness programs and services in the member communities.
Qualifications:
- • Grade 12 and post-secondary education in community wellness or related discipline and/or a combination of education and related work experience.
• Health & Wellness certifications (I.e., ASIST 11, Mental Health First Aid, safeTALK, CPR, etc.) is an asset.
• Knowledge of mental wellness issues specific to First Nations.
• Excellent public speaking skills.
• Must be available to work flexible hours and be able to travel.
• Must have a valid Class 5 divers license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Must be able to produce Criminal Record check and Child/Adult Abuse Registry.
