Interlake, MB – The Interlake Reserves Tribal Council Inc., announces that while Kinonjeoshtegon First Nation, Peguis First Nation and Pinaymootang First Nation currently have their fires under control, we are adding Lake Manitoba First Nation to the recent declaration of State of Emergency. This decision has been made in response to the fire threat in Lake Manitoba First Nation, and the Interlake Reserves Tribal Council is stepping in to assist with emergency measures.
The safety of our communities remains our top priority. While the current fire situation is being managed, fire risks are still at an extremely high level. We urge all community members to remain vigilant and adhere to emergency protocols established by the Chief and Council of Lake Manitoba First Nation and their Emergency Team.
“Our Collective response is crucial during this time” Stated Chief Cornell McLean of Lake Manitoba First Nation and Chairman of the Interlake Reserves Tribal Council. “We are committed to providing all necessary support to Lake Manitoba First Nation as we navigate these challenges together. It is vital that our communities follow emergency protocols to ensure everyone’s safety”
We appreciate the resilience and cooperation of our communities in these challenging conditions. Your safety is paramount, and we thank everyone for their diligence in adhering to the safety measures in place.
