The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 2.2 per cent and 42 new cases of the virus have been identified as of 9:30 a.m. today bringing the number of cases in Manitoba to 1,674.
A resident of Winnipeg’s Parkview Place care home has died of COVID-19, the company that runs the home confirmed on Tuesday. The individual’s death, was not included in the province’s Tuesday afternoon update, was Manitoba’s 19th coronavirus-linked fatality.
The data shows:
- three cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region
- two cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region
- one case in the Northern health region
- six cases in the Southern Health region
- 30 cases in the Winnipeg health region
The data also shows:
- 418 active cases and 1,238 individuals have recovered from COVID- 19
- 11 people in hospital and five people in intensive care
- the number of deaths due to COVID-19 is 19.
CASE INVESTIGATION UPDATE
Public health is advising of possible exposures to COVID-19 at the following sites on the dates and times:
- Gladstone Elementary School of a confirmed case in the school on Sept. 8 to 10, and 14
- Maurice School of a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the school on Sept. 17 and 18
- Emerson School was notified of a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the school on Sept. 16 and 17
- Earls St. Vital at 1215 St. Mary’s Rd in Winnipeg: Sept. 15th from 5:30 p.m. to 1:30 m.
- The Local Public Eatery at 274 Garry St. in Winnipeg: Sept. 15th and
- Wee Johnny’s Irish Pub at 177 McDermot in Winnipeg: Sept 15th from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for trivia
- Leopold’s Tavern at 414 Academy Rd. in Winnipeg: Sept 15th from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 m.
- Public health officials confirmed the number of cases of the illness linked to the outbreak at John Pritchard School in Winnipeg had reached 20 people, nearly triple what it was a week earlier.
