JOB TITLE: Information Systems Technician
LOCATION: IRTC Sub-Office, Headingley, MB
SALARY: Based on experience

Job Description:
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Information Systems Technician’s (IST) main focus is to provide information management systems support to the overall day-to-day operations. The IST will be responsible for the operation, programming, maintenance, and configuration of many pieces of electronics, hardware, and software. The IST activities include but are not limited to:
• Support and assist the organization with performing regular IT computer maintenance, the installation and troubleshooting of standard PC equipment hardware and software.
• Adapt and develop IT procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment to meet the organization’s needs.
• Perform user IT support functions, network infrastructure and maintenance tasks, and LAN administration and maintenance tasks.
• Assists in the installation of network infrastructure equipment.
• Provide training to users on hardware and software applications.
• Other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager.
Qualifications:
• Grade 12 diploma and completion of a college diploma / university degree in Information Technology Systems is an asset or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a similar position.
• 3 years’ work experience in a related position, preferably within a First Nation environment.
• Experienced working with First Nations’ communities, education service providers and learners.
• Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best IT solution and trouble shoot system / equipment problems.
• Ability to train and orient staff into effective IT systems and practices.
• Must be able to provide Criminal Record Check.
• Must have a Class 5 driver’s license with a reliable vehicle and the ability to travel.
• Must be able to work overtime hours if needed.
