For Immediate Release – Treaty 1 Territory – Interlake Reserves Tribal Council & Fight For Charity
Interlake Reserves Tribal Council was the diamond sponsor for 2025 the annual Fight for Charity event held in Winnipeg. This event showcases local amateur boxers in a evening of competition and to fundraise with an annual charity of choice by the organization. This year the charity was Anne Oake Family Recovery Centre.
“We know this charitable donation is essential for helping people with substance abuse and to aid in the recovery process for those that are battling addictions. To support this organization in its efforts against harm reduction is important for building healthy communities.” Says Chairman Cornell McLean.
IRTC has supported the Fight for Charity every year for the past 3 years, and a total $80,500 was raised this year by the Fight for Charity.
“Daniel Strang, Executive Director for Fight for Charity continues to support the city of Winnipeg and local charities by his excellent leadership skills in leading this collective effort to suppport healthy communities by way of giving back. We are just one of many donators to this cause of building a united front to the many needs of local organizations with expressed needs in Winnipeg and Manitoba.” Says Executive Director Karl Zadnik.

The donation provided to the Anne Oake Family Recovery Centre and the awareness raised by the event is going to go along way toward supporting this vital centre being built.
